Here is the update! Plus where in the world is Tara?

Ok - so this is a little late, I thought I would give some one else the chance to tell about the June club. So a lot of you missed out. It started out very small, and didn’t get to much bigger, but it was still a lot of fun to get together and talk (a lot). Liz, Whitney and I were the only ones, so we decided to stay in town and go to Bajio. Luckily when we were getting our food, Sharla showed up. So three moved up to four! We did our normal, ate and talked. We discussed rumors that we have heard and tried to figure out if any of them had any truth to them. And of course we talked about our own lives ups and downs. Liz told us about her new tactic with her children (if you want more info, check out her blog). After we decided that we need a little treat, so we went to Cold Stone and shared an ice cream. Whitney had to get back to her kids, so she left and Sharla took us back up to Liz’s. We sat and talked in her car, Sharla told us about her daughters burn (check her blog) then we decided it was way to hot in the car and moved ourselves to the backyard. Then Mindi showed up! Matt lit the Tiki torches that encompassed us with a delightful ambiance. Sharla then had to leave to get back to her family. I was concerned about the hornets nest in the very top pitch of the house, and Mindi was concerned with getting West Nile. After voicing our concerns we talked for a long time, then we tried to leave, but the conversation was to good. We made it to the front porch and that was it. You should all join us for the after club, the conversations are deep and enjoyable. We finally tore ourselves away from one another and went home. So now we can’t wait until July’s club.

Tara where the heck are you????? Are you good? How is the pregnancy? How is the house? Are you all moved in? Do you like the area? Are the girls adjusting? How is Scott doing? Does he like it? Are you so glad to have your own space? So many questions, no answers. I miss my friend and I would love to know how she and her family are doing. Hope all is well!

Hope to see you all out at the next get together.

Final Plans for June Club...

Okay - this is the last post I'm going to do today, I swear! I agree with Whitney...Summer is crazy for all of us, so let's just meet here at 6:30 and we'll either order out or go somewhere to eat. If you want to, we can come back here for an "after-party party" and enjoy the summer night in my backyard. Sound good?
If you have to meet us later, just call my cell or my house and we'll let you know where we are. Let's just bag the whole recipe exchange thing for later. I'm too stressed with other things right now to even have to worry about that. Okey Dokey??
Hope to see you all there!

Update on Club

Duh - I'm a nerd. I just realized that I can't have a get together Thursday night at my house, but I CAN do it Wednesday night, the 18th. So, let's plan on that. Come around 6:30 pm.

Okay - now how do we do a recipe exchange? Should I make a main dish and then you all bring side dishes and deserts? Or should we all just bring our favorite dish and see what we end up with? OR - what about this? Should we all just bring copies of our favorite recipes and just order out? HA HA! I'm not really sure how to do a recipe exchange, so if you all want to do this, please let me know HOW!! :)

Oh, and let me know if Wednesday works for you or not.

Love,
Liz

The REAL June club

Hey Girls -
Just wondering if June 19th is a good night for a get together at my house. I wasn't at our last club, but I was told that a lot of you guys would like to do a recipe exchange. Does that still sound fun to everybody? If so, we could meet at my house and bring a dish to share - along with recipe cards. Anybody up for this???

june club

for club this month, we are going to attend the recycling open house on Wednesday, June 11th from 5:30-7:30pm at the city office building. i think they want club 14 to be in some commercials they are shooting about recycling for channel 17. there will also be lots of information about the program and you can get a sneak peak at the state-of-the-art recycling bins that can be yours once you sign up for the program.

okay, so this isn't the real june club, but think of it as the before-club party. you all know i will be there.

p.s. 393 people have signed up now... nice!
p.p.s. lindsey v- i haven't forgotten about your inquiry, i'm still checking on something.

Hey girls I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone. Hopefully I will be back soon and we can get together again. I also wanted to let you all know that we are having a Boy. We are super excited. Kennady wanted a brother so she is happy, and Brooklyn is getting used to the idea. It may take her a little while. So all you that have boys I need advice. I really don't want to turn him into a girly boy. So any advice will help. Well I hope you all have a great summer and keep in touch.

378 down, 1622 to go...

378 people have signed up for curbside recycling. if you are not one of them, read this post and do the fun experiment noted below!

some people get caught up on the $6 monthly fee. i think of it like this: $6 per month is a small price to pay for someone to come to your house, pick up your trash, sort it out, and make it into something useful. it also helps make the world a more healthy and clean place for you and your children to live.

by the way, the approved program allows you to mix all your recyclable materials together.

still unsure? try the following experiment. for the next day or two, put aside everything you would normally throw away that is found on the following list. at the end of the day (or two), look at what you have put aside and visualize the volume of material you could recycle in a week, a month, a year.
if at that point you are not racked with a horrible sense of guilt every time you toss a cereal box or empty soup can in the trash, i'd say you have no conscience and are too hardened for me to ever persuade.
